- Hat Channels in all metals Aptly named to reflect its hat-like appearance, the Hat Channel is composed of two horizontal outward flanges (the brim) and two vertical. dimensions, (the sides of the hat) giving it an appearance similar to the side view of a top hat. From a 3 dimensional perspective, the top of a Hat Channel reveals a flat, horizontal surface - the hat's top.?
- Hat Channels can also be described as a Brack Formed Metal U-Channel with a bottom horizontal web and 2 vertical legs with outward flanges. These outward flanges can also be called Wings or Fins.
- Hat Channel can be manufactured with braking and rolling tooling, Many Hat Channel sizes can be made with our existing tooling.
- Hat Channels can be made in thicknesses varying from .005” - .150”. Hats can be back Formed as requested sizes.
- When the material is thin enough to be roll formed, Hat Channels can be as narrow as 1" wide.
- Heights of Hat Channels can be brake Formed to be as high as needed to be, and as low as 3/16"; and even less with thinner metals.
- Hat channels are fabricated in 1/2”, 7/8”, and 1-1/2” depth forming and can be at any size if its brake forming, Special size, and lengths are available.
